Problem: fan-fics have a bad rep. For a good reason.
For one, lots of creativity in this field is being suppressed because of the fact that “fan-fics are lower than original works”

Secondly, underage and beastiality and stuff that should be illegal in reality is quite common in fan-fics. Some fics of minors are considered pedophilic but there is a huge grey area in that area and a lot of people has been hurt.
